To get oriented to the topic, you'd like to find something at the American Dental Association Web site (ada.org) about dental problems associated with methamphetamine use. What are the oral effects of methamphetamine?

1. Finding the document   Here's what you know

  • Keywords are oral effects and methamphetamine
  • You want the information to come from the American Dental Association -- i.e., ada.org is the domain name

You'll want to use Google in the Advanced Search mode. To get to Google, type google.com as the address at the top of your browser. Once you are in Google, click to go to the Advanced Search mode (over on right).

The keyword methamphetamine is typed into the first search box, and oral effects is the exact phrase you want. Where it says Domain you restrict your search to ada.org.

You can do this as a regular Google search with this search statement

methamphetamine "oral effects" site:ada.org

2. Finding what is said about oral effects in the document
Once you have the document on your screen, use the scroll bar to quickly review its contents. You can find a particular word on a page by using the Find command (Ctrl F).

3. Go to your Word document and summarize what you learned.
