Find Speeches

OneSearch is a tool that allows you to search many Library collections at the same time.

Here are some tips for searching for speeches in OneSearch:

Add the keyword "speech" to your search:

Search using the keywords "Martin" "Luther" "King" and "Speech"

Use quotes to search an exact name or phrase:

Search using the keywords "Dolores Hueta" in Quotes and the keyword "Speech"

Use the OR to search for variations on a word:

Search using the keywords "Civil Rights" in quotes and "Speech" OR "Speeches"

  • Captions & transcripts:  You can copy quotes for your essay
  • Citation tool:  You can copy a rough draft of the MLA citation

Searching Speeches in Films on Demand

  • Add the keyword "speech"

Search using the keywords "Malcolm" "X" and "Speech"

  • Search an exact phrase or name in quotes:

Search using the keywords "Shirley Chisholm" in quotes and "Speech"

  • Search variations on the keyword speech using OR

Search using the keywords "voting" and "rights" and using the OR to search for "speech" OR "speeches"
