English 1A – Research Assignment – A Local Current Event 

For your research essay write about a local current event. Local means it happened in California and current means that it happened within the last five years. You can use topics from local newspapers and Opposing Viewpoints or you can choose your own. Use causal analysis, compare and contrast, definition, and narrative to describe the event. You should include background information that is necessary for the reader. Required: THREE reputable sources, Works Cited page.
