Basics

• Enter text in “alternative text”
• Images only need a description if they are providing instruction -- you don’t have to describe decorative images
• What is the pedagogical purpose of the image? Describe the information the image is conveying -- e.g., to find books, click on the first link for “Books, DVDs, and More, NOT image of library homepage with red arrow by “Books, DVDs, and More” link.  You are interpreting, not describing, the image.
• If an image has text, you have to transcribe it.  If it’s too long, link to a google doc describing it
